Automation Project Engineer (m/f/d) - Maritime Automation & Propulsion Systems
Rostock, Germany + Flexible Home Office
€60,000 - €80,000 + Paid Overtime + 30 Days Holiday + Flexible Training + Parking + Long-Term Progression

I am currently representing a family-owned company specialising in maritime automation, propulsion systems, and sensor solutions for the shipbuilding industry. Operating for over 100 years, they design, develop, commission, and support advanced automation systems used across the maritime sector. Due to continued growth and expansion, they are now looking for an Automation Project Engineer to join their team in Rostock.
In this role, you will take full responsibility for projects from sales through to commissioning, acting as the technical point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating schedules, technical changes, and customer requirements to ensure successful delivery.
The successful candidate will come from an Electrical or Automation Engineering background and possess strong communication skills in both German and English. Training is highly flexible, with the company willing to provide additional support and development wherever required.

The Role:
- Full project responsibility from sales through to commissioning
- Manage 3-5 projects simultaneously (lasting 4 months to 2.5 years)
- Act as the technical point of contact for customers
- Coordinate scheduling, design changes, and project delivery
- Interpret technical drawings and electrical documentation
The Candidate:
- Background in Electrical or Automation Engineering
- Maritime industry experience
- Customer-facing experience or willingness to work closely with customers
- Understanding of EPLAN or electrical drawings
- Fluent in German and English
- Located in or commutable to Rostock
