Controls Engineer (PLC Programming)
Providence, RI
$90,000 - $110,000 + Bonus + Progression + Training + 401k + Medical + Dental + Vision
Are you a Controls Engineer who enjoys being hands-on with PLC programming and wants real ownership over automation systems on the production floor?
This is a chance to join a growing manufacturer investing heavily in automation, where you will lead PLC-driven improvements across modern production equipment within a brand-new facility.
You will be the go-to engineer for PLC programming, troubleshooting and commissioning, working closely with production and maintenance teams to keep systems running efficiently and reliably. Alongside this, you'll develop HMIs, support electrical control documentation, and play a key role in automation upgrades as the site continues to expand.
This is ideal for a Controls Engineer who wants technical ownership, variety on the shop floor, and the opportunity to progress within a growing, investment-backed manufacturing environment.
The Role
- PLC programming, fault-finding and optimisation of production equipment
- Commissioning and supporting installation of new automation systems
- Developing HMI interfaces and supporting control system documentation
- Working closely with production teams to improve machine reliability
The Person
- Strong PLC programming experience (any major platform)
- Background in industrial controls, sensors, actuators and VFDs
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing / production environment
- Hands-on, problem-solving mindset
