Excellent role on offer for a highly experienced Master Planning, Architectural and/or Urban Design professional to work with a very forward thinking passionate consultancy who work on large and sustainable projects across the United Kingdom. The client provides a range of design services in architecture, masterplanning and urban design, landscape and conservation architecture as well as sustainability engineering with projects all across the U.K.

The company have a steady and growing workload and are in the process of expanding and strengthening its design team(s). They are currently promoting a variety of projects, ranging from strategic and detailed masterplans for mixed developments of up to 2500 dwellings, design coding for both residential and commercial schemes of varying scales, large scale developments for PRS and 'Elderly Living', preparing testing and detailed layouts for schemes of up to 500 units, landscape master plans and greenspace plans, as well as detailed designs for small developments, including 'exceptional design' homes, school refurbishments and extensions, new build projects and a growing portfolio of commercial schemes of many types. The business has a broad client base which ranges from 'blue chip' companies, public sector organisations, national housebuilders, developers and investors and a range of private clients.

This is a role open for someone with a strong urban design/master planning background in the relevant sectors with at least 10 years post qualification experience, and who would be able to lead and advise upon the preparation of large scale masterplans and urban design studies with planning consultants and others, as well as work at a more intimate scale on challenging sites and schemes. There will be an opportunity also to provide expert witness services at planning appeals.

The successful candidate should be a good communicator as the role will require both professional and business advocacy, and experience in these are areas would be a distinct advantage. You should have good managerial skills and experience in client liaison and business development, managing staff and project resources, preparing fee proposals, running project teams, participating in public consultations with stakeholder and community groups and in design reviews.
