Operations Manager - Energy Services

Based in Gloucestershire - Full time or Part Time

£50,000 - £60,000 + pension + Holiday + Flexible Working + Life Insurance + Cycle to Work Scheme

This award winning sustainability charity support householders and communities overcome sustainability challenges by tackling fuel poverty and improve energy efficiency across Wales and West of England. After a restructure due to growth they are now looking for a Director on Energy Services to join their friendly office in Gloucestershire being part of the senior leadership team.

In this role you will be managing a team of 30 technical experts and project managers on domestic and non-domestic programmes. You will be responsible for the development of new services, markets, strategies and submitting and developing successful bids and tenders to help develop the organisations impact on climate and fuel poverty. You will also be overseeing the domestic retrofit and consultancy programmes offering energy efficiency and net zero advice.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in an energy or environmental sector with experience of submitting and developing bids or tenders and devolving projects. You will also have experience managing a team, building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and clients.

The Role:

  • Reporting to the CEO
  • Develop new services, markets and strategies to help with business development
  • Overseeing and developing new and existing programmes
  • Offering net zero and energy efficiency advice
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time and on target to the highest technical standards
  • Submitting bids or tenders
  • Managing a team of 30
  • Building and developing relationships
  • Identify training needs
  • Full time or part time - 3 to 5 days a week

The person:

  • Strong understanding/experience in the energy/ environmental sector
  • Experience developing new markets, services and business
  • Experience developing/submitting successful bids or tenders
  • Understands the practicalities of energy efficiency
  • Strategic mindset
  • Experience managing a team
