Preconstruction Engineer
Northern California
$70,000 - $85,000 + Full Relocation Package + Benefits + Long-Term Career Progression

With an expanding pipeline and an ambitious growth plan, the business is now looking to bring a Preconstruction Engineer into its estimating function - someone who can produce fast, accurate estimates that give the business a genuine competitive edge at the point of pursuit.
In this role you will sit at the intersection of business development and project execution, producing ROM estimates for potential clients and detailed preconstruction and contract estimates to support project award. The numbers you produce will directly influence which projects the business wins, how margin is protected, and how projects are set up for success from the outset.
This is located in a gateway to some of Northern California's most breathtaking landscapes. Shasta Lake, Whiskeytown, and the Trinity Alps are all within easy reach, making this one of the best locations in the country for anyone who values the outdoors as much as their career.

The Role:
- Deliver rapid, accurate ROM estimates using historical cost data, project benchmarks, and unit rates
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from design and construction documents using the CSI framework, producing material, labour, and equipment cost estimates across all scope categories
- Identify jurisdiction-specific cost drivers and support bid levelling across subcontractor proposals
- Maintain and update the historical data library and cost catalogue to continuously improve estimate accuracy
The Person:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any discipline) with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly organised and deadline-driven, with strong attention to detail and a proactive communication style
- Genuine interest in construction with a willingness to develop knowledge of multifamily construction methods and estimating workflows
- Proficient in MS Excel and project management platforms
