As Premises Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that the school's buildings, grounds and facilities provide a safe, efficient and inspiring environment for pupils and staff. You will lead a small, dedicated site team and take ownership of all aspects of premises management, from maintenance and compliance to health and safety and project planning.


The ideal candidate will have a background as a caretaker, site manager or premises manager within a school. However, if you have a good background in facilities or site manage you are encouraged to apply. You will have the autonomy to shape the role, implement improvements and take pride in maintaining a site that supports exceptional teaching and learning.

The Role
*Manage all aspects of site, premises and facilities operations, ensuring the school is safe, secure and well maintained
*Lead and support premises colleagues, fostering teamwork and professionalism
*Oversee contractors and maintenance schedules, ensuring compliance and value for money
*Maintain robust health and safety procedures and statutory testing programmes
*Manage access control, security systems and emergency response arrangements
*Work closely with senior staff to support capital projects, long-term maintenance planning and sustainability initiatives
*Provide an excellent service to staff, pupils and visitors, taking pride in the presentation and upkeep of the school


The Person


*Proven experience in premises, facilities or site management, ideally within a school or similar setting
*Strong practical maintenance skills and a hands-on approach
*Confident, organised and effective leader with excellent communication skills
*Health and Safety qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH) or willingness to work towards one
*IT literate with sound administrative and record-keeping skills
*Flexible, reliable and committed to maintaining high standards
