Revit/AutoCAD Drafter

$50,000 - $55,000 + 20 days PTO + 401k

A great opportunity has arisen for a junior drafter to take the next step in their career and join an expanding yet established engineering and management consultancy.
In this role you will be based in the head office in Fairfax, with the option for remote/hybrid working after completion of the performance review. You will be working within the design department, supporting the design manager and leading the design works of projects you have been designated.
This is an award winning, diverse engineering and management consultancy, who focuses on the energy efficiency and environmental impact of their works. Covering the eastern and central US, they have established themselves as a leader in their field and are continuing to expand, hence this role being created.
Their projects are mainly new builds, with the majority of them being residential (apartments and townhouses), but also some commercial projects too.

In this role, you will be expected to be proficient using AutoCAD and Revit, and be able to use the software to create drawings in line with client requirements, standards and instructions from the design manager.
Being able to read understand and interpret technical drawings (including: civil, structural, architectural, fire protection, HVAC, piping, instrumental etc) will be essential, and allow you to continue to deliver a high quality service. Monitoring design costs, scheduling projects, and communicating within and across teams will also be a crucial part of this role, plus further responsibilities.
The ideal candidate should have a great communication skills and be highly motivated to absorb knowledge and progress within the business.
The Role:
- Lead the design works on assigned projects, using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Monitor design costs and schedules for projects
- Read, understand and interpret technical drawings
The Person:
- Minimum 2 years' experience using AutoCAD and Revit
- Proficient using Microsoft office products (including word, excel, outlook, SharePoint)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
