Service Desk Analyst (2nd Line)
Cardiff - HYBRID - Upon Completion of Training
Up to £45,000 DOE + Healthcare + Life Assurance 3x salary + Pension Scheme + 25 days holiday (plus 8 days bank holiday) + Income protection/Sickness pay
This is an excellent opportunity for a 2nd line support engineer looking to join a cutting edge and market leading maritime technology specialist offering autonomy, progression and excellent benefits package.
This globally recognised Marine Engineering company provide specialist infrastructure and technology services and are listed on the UK stock market.
In this role you will provide assistance with the deployment and monitoring of new systems, desktop and infrastructure support. You will manage and resolve support tickets across a variety of projects, installing and maintaining software. You will become a technical stakeholder for all design and implementation projects, providing support to the field-based Engineering Support Team.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Network Configuration and a Linux Virtual Environment. You will have previous commercial experience in desktop support or infrastructure engineering and will be familiar with Active Directory group policy management and IT hardware troubleshooting.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a 2nd Line Support Engineer to learn new technologies and work on cutting edge products in a leading Maritime Technology and Surveillance company.
The Role:
- AD Group Policy Management
- Troubleshooting Desktops, Data Centres, Hardware & Software issues
- Installing and supporting specialist software
- 1 in 4 Weeks on Call + Occasional Weekend Working Rota
- Mon - Fri, Hybrid
The Person:
- Experience in 2nd line infrastructure support
- Experience with Active Directory
- Experience with VMWare/Hyper V or Citrix XenServer
- You will have knowledge of hardware troubleshooting
- You will have experience with Linux Virtual Environments and Docker
- Commutable to Cardiff
