Electronics & Firmware Engineer
$120,000 - $200,000 base + Up to 20% bonus structure + 401(k) Matching + Health Benefits
Houston, TX area (Onsite between Katy, TX and Westchase district locations)

This is an incredible opportunity to work for one of the largest oil and gas companies in the world, which is currently expanding its presence in the United States.

This company is an R&D company focused on improving oil & gas technologies. They develop new drilling, fracturing, and materials technologies, work on more efficient and cleaner energy solutions, and run labs for testing things like drilling fluids, sensors, and downhole tools.

In this role, you will lead the design, development, and qualification of high-temperature electronics and embedded firmware. You will serve as a key technical contributor, driving downhole electronic architecture, high-temperature circuit design, power management, sensor integration, and ensuring reliability in extreme drilling environments.

The Role:
- Design and validate electronics for MWD tools and surface equipment
- Develop and debug embedded firmware for downhole systems
- Design analog/digital circuits (signal, power, sensors, comms)
- Build rugged electronics for extreme downhole conditions
- Support integration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- Execute testing, qualification, and reliability programs
- Assist with manufacturing test and product quality
- Collaborate across engineering, ops, and field teams
- Create schematics, test docs, and failure reports
- Investigate field issues and support product sustainment

The Person:
- Experience in years in electronics and embedded firmware
- Experience with C/C++ firmware on MCU/MPU/DSP systems
- Knowledge of signal, comms, power, and HW/SW integration
- Familiar with lab tools (oscilloscopes, analyzers, test setups)
- Strong analog/digital design and board-level debugging skills
