Mechanical Drafter / Designer
Luxemburg, WI
Commutable from: Green Bay, De Pere, Kaukauna, Appleton, Manitowoc, Two Rivers, Sturgeon Bay
$60,000 - $75,000 + Monthly Bonuses
+ Structured Training + Clear Progression + Education Reimbursement
Are you a Mechanical Drafter / Designer looking for a company that will genuinely invest in your development?
Do you have strong 3D CAD skills and solid mechanical fundamentals, looking to see your work go from initial design, right through to completion?
This is a permanent opportunity with an established, growing manufacturer where you'll join a close-knit engineering team and work closely with both engineering and manufacturing. You'll gain real-world exposure to how designs are built, troubleshoot issues directly with the shop floor and play a key part in taking designs through to production.
A huge focus here is training and long-term progression. You'll receive SolidWorks training, including a team-based course, along with FEA/simulation training and support learning the company's products, processes and ERP system. Education reimbursement is also available, with the company actively encouraging further education and supporting employees who want to develop their qualifications.
You'll play a hands-on role producing and revising drawings, creating manufacturing production packets and supporting light design work. There's also occasional travel to customer sites across the US, typically for 2-3 days at a time, with all travel covered and opportunities to support 3D scanning work.
With a clear pathway from Drafter / Designer → Senior Designer → Engineer, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build their technical skills, take on increasing responsibility and progress their career as the engineering team continues to grow.
The Role:
- Produce and revise CAD drawings and create manufacturing production packets for the shop floor
- Support light mechanical design work and collaborate with manufacturing to troubleshoot issues
- Monday-Friday, 40 hours with flexible start/finish times; occasional US travel, typically 2-3 days, with all expenses covered
The Person:
- Strong 3D CAD capability with a solid understanding of mechanical design fundamentals and engineering maths
- Mechanical design/drafting education, with an Associate's degree preferred; relevant drafting certificate considered
- SolidWorks experience ideal, although Inventor, CATIA or other 3D CAD experience will be considered
