Are you a Senior Embedded Engineer / Firmware Engineer ready to step into management, or an Embedded Software Manager, looking to lead a specialist team and progress towards directorship?

This is an excellent opportunity to take full ownership of the embedded software function, leading a specialist team of engineers and shaping technical direction across the full product lifecycle.

In this hands-on leadership role, you'll lead the development of embedded C/C++ firmware for embedded control systems, supporting architecture decisions, real-time control implementation, and robust validation.

You'll stay close to the hardware, supporting debugging and test work using lab equipment - whilst driving best practice, delivery, and team development.

This role would suit a Senior Embedded Controls Engineer looking for first-time management, or an existing Firmware / Embedded Software Manager looking for greater technical ownership and long-term progression to senior level leadership.

The Role:

• Lead embedded C/C++ firmware development for embedded control systems.
• Manage, mentor and develop a team of 5 engineers whilst driving best practice.
• Remain hands-on with debugging, validation and hardware/software integration.

The Candidate:

• Embedded C/C++ firmware development experience with microcontrollers / RTOS / real-time systems.
• Hands-on debugging experience (oscilloscope / multimeter / logic analyser) and an embedded controls background.
• Leadership experience, or a senior engineer ready to step into management (power / industrial background preferred).
