Austin, TX (onsite) + occasional customer travel desired
Are you a Power Electronics Engineer with strong power semiconductor and system development experience looking to take a high-impact position where you'll be designing systems and interacting with customers?
This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, Austin-based semiconductor engineering team that's commercializing a proprietary bidirectional solid-state power switch designed to reduce losses, simplify power conversion/protection architectures, and enable faster solid-state circuit protection.
The company is growth-driven, highly technical, and offers a clear technical ladder- giving you the chance to become a go-to technical expert while also building exposure to the customer/applications side. With a tight team, your work will be visible and your input will directly influence product and platform direction.
In this role, you'll lead platform development and customer technical enablement - owning evaluation/reference designs, device characterization, and high-quality technical documentation used to accelerate adoption with customers and partners.
Fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a high impact within power electronics engineering and personally develop on the customer-facing side of business.
The Role:
- Develop reference design kits, evaluation boards, and characterization hardware to support product commercialization.
- Lead silicon validation and device/system characterization to support datasheets and qualification.
- Create application notes, white papers, and product documentation to enable customer designs.
- Support customer and partner technical engagements, demos, and occasional trade shows.
- Contribute to product/platform roadmaps and drive complex projects end-to-end (performance, cost, schedule).
The Person:
- 7+ years in power electronics product development/commercialization.
- Deep knowledge of power semiconductors (MOSFETs + bipolar devices such as IGBTs/BJTs) and power conversion topologies (buck/boost/inverters).
- Hands-on with lab equipment and characterization, plus modeling/simulation and design/layout tools.
- Strong written communication (docs, app notes, white papers) and customer-facing technical acumen.
- Entrepreneurial, process-driven self-starter who can lead complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
