Field Service Technician - Renewable Energy Systems (Full Training)
$26 - $30 per hour + Significant Overtime + 3 weeks on then 1 week off each month + Full Travel Allowance + Full Training + Progression
Remote - US Wide (75% travel - 3 weeks of work then 1 week off)
Are you a Field Service Technician with electrical troubleshooting skills looking to become a specialist on unique wind and solar monitoring equipment, with structured training and a clear route into more technical roles and lots of extra earning through overtime?
On offer is a long-term opportunity with a well-established renewable energy technology business that has grown significantly over the last few years and is continuing to invest in its in-house Field Service team, offering genuine development and internal movement across the wider business.
You will be fully trained in Vermont (including an initial two-week onboarding and ride-alongs with experienced technicians) before travelling to customer sites across the US (typically around 70%) to install, commission, troubleshoot, and service advanced systems such as wind data loggers, lidar systems, solar data loggers, met sensors, and solar towers. This position is 3 weeks works then 1 week off each month with the majority of weeks returning home for weekends.
As a result of project demand and continued need for customer support nationwide, they are looking to add another technician who enjoys working with customers, learning new technology, and taking ownership in the field.
This role would suit a technically minded Field Service Technician who wants to build long-term technical capability, broaden their experience across renewable energy sites, and progress into areas such as tech support, computer-based troubleshooting, or product development over time.
The Role:
- Install, commission, troubleshoot, and service renewable energy monitoring systems
- Nationwide travel (typically around 75%) with 3 weeks work then 1 week off
- Structured onboarding and training in Vermont, plus ride-alongs with experienced technicians
- Work on equipment including lidar systems, wind data loggers, solar data loggers, and met sensors
The Person:
- Field Service / Electrical Technician background with electrical troubleshooting experience
- Comfortable working with customers and learning new, unique products
- Open to regular US travel and based within reach of a major airport (Not California)
