Are you a Junior Estimator, Estimating Assistant, or Project Engineer with exposure to heavy civil construction looking for a role where you can be properly trained and progressed into a senior-level estimating career?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established heavy civil contractor working across excavating, site preparation, and utility projects for government and commercial clients, where you will learn directly from experienced estimators and develop your skills fast.

In this role you will read and interpret blueprints, support preconstruction activities (RFIs, submittals, pricing), and produce accurate quantity takeoffs for labor, equipment, and vendors using a blend of software and practical methods while shadowing senior estimators day-to-day.

This role would suit someone with heavy civil preconstruction exposure who wants long-term development, hands-on training, and a clear route into a senior estimating position.

The Role:

• Junior Estimator / Estimating Assistant (Heavy Civil)
• Blueprint takeoffs and building accurate estimates for labor, equipment, and vendors
• Supporting preconstruction: RFIs, submittals, pricing, and related documentation
• Shadowing and learning under experienced estimators, including training on estimating software (HCSS)
• On-site, office-based role in Chagrin Falls, OH

The Person:

• Exposure to heavy civil preconstruction (RFIs, submittals, pricing, takeoffs, etc.)
• Comfortable reading and understanding construction drawings / blueprints
• Motivated to learn, develop, and progress into an Estimator / Senior Estimator career path
