You will play a key role in designing and developing mechanical systems, assemblies, and components for specialist electrical equipment, including modular power enclosures, switchgear, and transfer switch systems. Working closely with electrical, manufacturing, and project engineering teams, you will influence product design, improve manufacturability, solve complex engineering challenges, and help establish technical design standards across the business.

This role would suit a Mechanical Design Engineer or Product Engineer with experience in industrial equipment or engineered products who is looking to become a recognized technical expert, expand their specialist knowledge, and make a lasting impact within a growing engineering team.

The Role:

• Design and develop mechanical systems, assemblies, and components for specialist electrical products, using 3D CAD software to produce detailed models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation

• Take ownership of product improvements, engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and design optimization, working closely with manufacturing and electrical engineering teams to improve performance and manufacturability

• Become a key technical resource within the engineering department, contributing to design standards, mentoring junior engineers, and developing your expertise through hands-on learning and exposure to innovative engineering solutions

The Candidate:

• Accredited degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline

• Mechanical design or product engineering experience, ideally involving industrial equipment, fabricated assemblies, enclosures, or engineered-to-order products

• Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or Creo, with strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability
