On offer is a high-impact opportunity to join a small, close-knit consumer hardware startup where you will be the go-to mechanical engineer, driving next-generation product development from early concepts through tooling and mass production.

This company is focused on augmenting human capability through innovative robotics, with ambitious product roadmaps beyond their first flagship device. Due to continued product development and growth in their Austin team, they are now looking to add a senior-level engineer to accelerate delivery.

In this role you will design and package electromechanical assemblies (motors, gearing, batteries, sensors and PCBAs) into compact, lightweight structures, create production drawings and GD&T, run tolerance analysis and FEA, and build/iterate prototypes using 3D printing, CNC and machining.

This role would suit a hands-on Mechanical Engineer with strong CAD and prototyping skills, who wants real technical ownership, end-to-end responsibility, and the chance to see designs reach real users.

The Role:

*Own mechanical design from concept, prototyping and testing through tooling and mass production

*Design wearable robotic footwear assemblies: housings, drivetrains, gearing, suspension and enclosures

*Create drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5), tolerance stack-ups, and support DFM/DFA (injection molding, machining)

*Hands-on build/iterate using 3D printing, CNC and machining in an Austin lab environment

*On-site position in Austin, Texas

The Person:

(Mechanical Engineering background with strong experience designing hardware products that reached real users or production

*Strong production-grade CAD skills (SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Fusion 360, Creo or CATIA) and large assemblies/surfacing

*Hands-on prototyping experience and confidence using shop tools, fixtures and test setups
