This well-backed early-stage business is on a mission to augment human capability and make the world more walkable. Due to continued development and the need to accelerate product delivery, they are now looking to add to their Embedded Systems team in Austin.

In this role, you'll design, develop and maintain embedded software including RTOS-based system software, bootloaders, and Built-In Self-Test (BIST). You'll lead firmware architecture, integrate with motor controllers/sensors and communication interfaces (SPI, UART, CAN, I2C, Ethernet), and build system-level test frameworks, CI/CD and production-line test software.

This role would suit an embedded engineer with strong RTOS fundamentals and hands-on microcontroller experience (ARM Cortex-M / ESP32), looking for high-impact technical ownership, deeper system-level responsibility, and the chance to help shape a flagship robotics product.

The Role:

*Embedded firmware development for wearable robotics products (RTOS, bootloaders, BIST)

*Lead system architecture for product firmware and drive code quality through reviews

*Hardware/software integration with motor controllers, sensors, and comms interfaces

*Build validation frameworks, automated testing, CI/CD, and production test software

*On-site role in Austin, Texas

The Person:

*Strong embedded software development expertise with C/C++ and object-oriented design

*Experience with microcontrollers/microprocessors (ideally ARM Cortex-M and/or ESP32) and RTOS concepts

*Comfortable reading schematics and debugging with oscilloscopes / logic analyzers
