Design Engineer - Solar PV
Commutable from Hull, Brigg, Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Doncaster, York and surrounding areas
£40,000 - £45,000 + Discretionary Bonus + Training + 20 days holiday (+BH) and 2 weeks Off Over Christmas + Progression Opportunities + Benefits

In this role, the Design Engineer will play a pivotal role in the development of projects, and will be responsible for producing mechanical and electrical engineering designs for commercial, industrial and agricultural Solar PV projects.
This role would suit a Solar PV Designer, or an experienced Electrical and / or Mechanical Design engineer with strong CAD knowledge and a passion for renewable energy. Experience designing C&I Solar PV projects and knowledge of industry software is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.

The Role:
- Produce mechanical and electrical engineering designs for roof and ground-mounted Solar PV projects
- Interpret commercial tender specifications and requirements
- Support with the creation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ), Construction Information (CI) packs, As-built packs / O&M manuals
- Liaise and coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure projects meet specification
- Manage staged due diligence DNO/IDNO (Grid, Planning, Structural assessments)
- Hold weekly design meetings and regularly communicate with customers, senior managers, and stakeholder
 The Person:
- Solar PV Designer, or strong Electrical and / or Mechanical Design background
- Strong experience using CAD software (3D Useful but not mandatory)
- A background within the renewable energy sector and experience using industry specific software (PVSyst, PV Sol, Solaredge, and Electrical OM) is desirable but not essential
- HNC/HND/Degree in relevant discipline, or time served experience
- Commutable to Hull
