Electrical Project Engineer - Training in Renewable Energy

Are you an Electrical Engineer that is looking to develop your career further by moving into the Renewable Energy sector with a leading Scottish business that is one of Scotland's pioneers in the push to Net-Zero?

This company specialises in the production of biogas through the process of anaerobic digestion at a large number of sites across Scotland. Now that they've established themselves as the leading producer of renewable fuels in Scotland, they're starting to go through the next phase of their growth which has seen them open up additional offices in London to support their growth into England as well as into other territories such as Europe and the USA. They are also beginning to expand into other areas of Renewable Energy such as Solar PV and Wind.

In this role you will be working closely alongside the company's Project team to support with the delivery of electrical projects at the company's operational sites as well as those being developed. You will play a crucial role in the design, scoping, management and monitoring of projects from inception to handover to the operations team, as well as liaising closely with suppliers and contractors to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard.

The ideal candidate will have a HNC, HND or a Degree in Electrical Engineering and will have gained some prior experience in either an Electrical Design or Project Engineering position, preferably with experience working on power generation or power transmission projects.

The role:
* Working with company leadership and projects team to support with project delivery
* Forecasting and monitoring costs, advising on potential changes to predictions
* Assisting in development and implementation of commercial strategy for projects
* Ensuring appropriate skill base to deliver projects while managing and supporting site team
* Monitoring project progress from inception to handover
* Maintaining risk register to highlight risks, give early warning and implement corrective plans
* Working closely with H&S team to implement specific Quality plans & to monitor adherence to this
* Preparing specific HSE plans for projects
* Verifying commissioning progress and appropriate testing is witnessed prior to handover
* Continuous improvement work across sites

The person:
* Educated to at least HNC/HND level in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a Degree
* Previous experience working on HV/power generation/power transmission projects (desirable)
* Knowledge of Renewable Energy technologies (advantageous)
* Previous project management or project engineering experience
* PRINCE2 or similar project management qualification (desirable)
* Experience with Renewable Energy technologies such as onshore or offshore wind (advantageous)
* Full UK driving license
