Excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineer with leadership experience coming from a Power Infrastructure background that is looking for an engineering management position where they can grow, develop and lead a department however they see fit to support with the delivery of major Power Generation, Transmission, Distribution and Renewable Energy projects.

This tight-knit and family-owned engineering consultancy prides itself on the close relationships it has forged and maintained with high-profile clients for over 60 years. They have strategically acquired smaller businesses, and in recent years have themselves received financial backing from one of the largest energy companies in the world. They support clients both large and small with their specialist infrastructure engineering needs including municipalities, energy suppliers and gas companies.

In this role you will be responsible for overseeing, leading and growing the company's Charlotte (NC) office. This will involve duties such as hiring/reviewing/mentoring new staff, managing Designers/PMs/Project Engineers, providing high-level reviews of scopes/budgets/estimates/proposals, interfacing and building relationships with clients and inputting into the overall strategic vision of the business.

The ideal candidate will come from an Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering background where they have held 10+ years' experience working on Power Generation/Transmission/Distribution projects, and will have 5+ years' experience in team management. They will also need to hold a PE license, although transfer of licensure from a state other than NC is possible.

The role:
* Interviewing, hiring, integrating and mentoring new staff
* Providing multi-disciplinary oversight of PMs, Project Engineers, Designers & Technicians
* Acting as point of contact for new and existing clients, and supporting with business development
* Overseeing preparation and presentation of specifications, proposals and project plans
* Carrying out high-level technical review of project scopes, budgets and proposals

The Person:
* B.S. in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering
* Registered Professional Engineer
* 10+ years' experience in design or project engineering for power generation, transmission or distribution projects
* 5+ years' experience in a management/leadership role
* Previous experience working in a consulting environment
* Active driving license
