Are you a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to kickstart your career in the low-carbon energy sector?
Do you want to join an innovative business where you'll receive mentorship, hands-on experience, and real progression opportunities in shaping the future of UK heat networks?
My client is a fast-growing energy infrastructure business investing in and delivering large-scale, low-carbon heat network projects across the UK. You'll contribute to moving potential projects from pre-contract development through to technically and commercially viable schemes, while supporting senior managers in driving expansion, feasibility, and funding applications. This role offers a fantastic learning environment and exposure to the full lifecycle of pioneering low-carbon projects, from design and commercial assessment to stakeholder engagement and project execution.
We are looking for someone organised, proactive, and eager to learn. You may come from a recent graduate background in engineering, construction, energy, or other technical disciplines, or have 1-2 years' experience in related roles such as design, project support, or utilities. What matters most is your enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to develop across technical, commercial, and project management areas.
In this role, you will support senior managers with project assessments, feasibility studies, commercial modelling, stakeholder engagement, and preparation of bids and funding applications. You will gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle while building the skills needed to manage your own projects as you progress.
The Person:
- Recent graduate or 1-2 years' experience in energy, utilities, or infrastructure
- Degree-level qualification in engineering, technical, or related discipline
- Strong Excel skills and willingness to learn techno-economic modelling
- Organised, self-motivated, and confident in verbal and written communication
- Curious about low-carbon energy and keen to develop technical, commercial, and project management skills
The Role:
- Support senior managers in developing projects from pre-contract through to contract execution
- Contribute to commercial modelling, techno-economic assessments, and project feasibility
- Assist with stakeholder engagement, including clients, contractors, and local authorities
- Help prepare project bids, briefs, and funding applications
- Learn to interpret technical, commercial, and regulatory information to support project decisions
