Lead Software Engineer
Berlin - Permanent Employee, Full-Time, Hybrid working (3 days a week on site)
€78,000 - €80,000 + Performance Bonus + Holiday + Pension + Flexible Working Hours + Employee Discount Scheme
Excellent opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer to contribute to a platform that is transforming the living situations in remote areas of Africa through providing solar energy.
This company is highly regarded for being the main source of power across 9 African countries. Their mission is to impact millions of households and businesses over the next 5 years. This is achieved through the selling of solar panel products and providing loans to enable purchases. With a collaborative, diverse team, they are implementing technology that significantly changes lives.
In this role, you will be responsible for the technical evolution of software products, controlling the code quality and mentoring the senior engineers. You will contribute to the company's social and environmental impact, whilst having the opportunity to work in a diverse technology stack at scale.
The ideal candidate will be an individual with experience in Ruby on Rails and enjoys supporting junior software engineers. You will need to speak fluent English and be based in Berlin.

The Role:
- Using Ruby on Rails as the foundational framework for backend development
- Fluent in English
- Planning and implementing team processes
- Developing software
- Hybrid working (3 days a week on site)
The Person:
- Proficient in Ruby on Rails and Python
- Fluent in English
- Bachelors or Masters in a relevant engineering discipline
- Experience in architecture and various software methodologies
