Quantity Surveyor (Construction/District Heating)

£55,000 - £68,000 + Car Allowance + Progression Opportunities + Paid Travel + Holidays + Private Company Pension

This is a great opportunity for a motivated and driven QS to work on a variety of exciting projects across the UK within a close-knit specialist team all whilst offering your subject matter expertise to drive the growth of the company.

This company have been established for a number of years and boast some exciting large scale nationwide projects; specialising in the design and installation of district heating projects across the UK. They work closely with blue chip clients and are renowned for being the UK's market leaders in what they do.

In this role, you will be responsible for the production, presentation and delivery of cost reports for district heating projects. You will be assisting in the preparation of project budgets, tracking costs throughout the project lifecycle, and reporting on any variances. Company aims allow the correct candidate to directly impact the governments drive towards Net Zero energy implementation of District Heating.

This position would suit a Quantity Surveyor with experience in the mechanical or civil sector; District Heating experience very much desirable. Chartered member or working towards the relevant qualification is desirable. Must be located within or commutable to Bradford with occasional travel to other project sites across the UK.

The Role:

  • Conduct thorough cost analysis for civil, M&E and District Heating projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers and architects to review and update project plans.
  • Develop and maintain cost databases, cost records and resource libraries to facilitate accurate estimating for specific projects.
  • Identify and manage project risks and propose mitigating strategies.
  • Site based role for project in Bradford but could be occasional travel around the North.


The Person:

  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Looking for a long-term role within a growing district heating company.
  • Incredibly proficient in mathematics with application to building trades.
  • 3 years experience in quantity surveying within a building trade/Civils/district heating sector.
  • Commutable to or located around Yorkshire/Lancashire/Derbyshire/Cheshire areas.
