Service Manager - Maritime Automation & Sensor Technology
Rostock (40% Worldwide Travel)
€45,000 - €80,000 + Bonus + Company Car/Allowance + 30 Days Holiday + Overtime Pay + Pension + Additional Benefits

I am currently representing a long-standing specialist in maritime automation and sensor technology, operating globally for almost 100 years. With over 200 employees worldwide, they design, develop, commission and service automation systems for the marine and transport industries. Due to the current Service Manager relocating for personal reasons, they are looking for a new leader to take over the team in Rostock.
In this role, you will oversee a service department of 7 employees, including technicians and a service coordinator. You will ensure operational efficiency, support customer problem-solving, review profitability of service work, and assist with onboarding and training new technicians. Around 40% of your time will involve international travel to customer sites.
The successful candidate will either come from a Service Technician background looking to step into management, or already have leadership experience from a comparable technical industry. Fluent English is required, and German is highly desirable. Internal product training and language support can be provided.

The Role:
- Lead and mentor a team of 7 service staff
- Coordinate and optimise service operations
- Solve technical issues for key customers
- Oversee profitability and financial efficiency of service projects
- Support training and onboarding of new technicians
- Approx. 40% worldwide travel
The Candidate:
- Background in service, technical engineering, or automation
- Experience on ships/maritime OR similar industries
- Fluent English (German a bonus)
- Strong communication and leadership qualities
- Based in or willing to relocate to Rostock
