This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking educational establishment with a long-term project pipeline, excellent benefits, and the chance to make a tangible impact. You'll have the opportunity to shape projects from the ground up, apply your expertise, and work in a flexible, supportive environment, all while being part of a £15 billion investment programme over the next 15 years.
The Role:
*Inspect, monitor, and report on mechanical contractors and tradespeople, ensuring quality and compliance.
*Review drawings and as-built construction to provide constructive advice and guidance.
*Attend site meetings and provide clear, concise written and verbal reports.
*Track snags and observations, following up to ensure they are resolved.
*Collaborate with colleagues across fabric, electrical, and mechanical disciplines to maintain high standards and solve challenges together.
*Take part in an on-call rota to support urgent project needs (additional allowance provided).
The Person:
*Either an experienced mechanical Clerk of Works seeking a new opportunity, or a hands-on mechanical professional looking to move into this type of role.
*Strong understanding of mechanical systems such as HVAC, boilers, wet services, and plant operations.
*Practical knowledge of construction, drawings, and project delivery.
*Calm, approachable communicator who works collaboratively with contractors and colleagues.
*Professional qualifications are desirable (ICWCI/MCIOB), but the right skills and experience are more important.
*Ideally someone who has been on the tools, understands site work, and now wants to move into a mentoring, inspection, and quality-focused role.
