An excellent opportunity awaits an engineer with strong cloud and infrastructure experience, offering real technical variety alongside clear progression and development.
This company is an innovative digital transformation partner, supporting clients across key and critical infrastructure sectors through technology solutions and consultancy services.
In this role, you'll sit between development and operations, helping to bring the two closer together. You'll take ownership of a mix of cloud and hybrid infrastructure, with a strong focus on automation and Infrastructure as Code. You'll play a key role in modernising the platform and embedding DevOps best practices across a multi-cloud environment, while acting as a key technical contact for the business and working with external IT partners. You'll also support alignment with security standards and certifications. The role offers real influence over the long-term direction of the platform and is hybrid, with two days per week in the Manchester office.
The ideal candidate will come from a sys admin, infrastructure engineering, or cloud operations background, with a strong focus on automation and cloud. You'll be comfortable with Azure and/or GCP, familiar with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code, and confident running secure, stable, and well-governed systems. You'll be motivated by ownership, keen to implement DevOps and cloud best practices, and looking for the autonomy to improve how the platform is built and operated.
This is a great opportunity for a proactive engineer to move beyond traditional infrastructure, drive the shift to IaC, and take a leading role in shaping the future direction of cloud operations as the business grows.
The Role:
*Lead the hybrid cloud environment, driving automation and efficiency
*Drive the move from manual setups to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and best practices
*Oversee IT security standards, compliance, and certifications
*Shape the long-term infrastructure roadmap and platform development
*Hybrid role based 2 days per week in the office in Manchester
The Person:
*Background in systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or similar cloud operations roles
*Strong experience with automation, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code
*Experience working with Azure and/or Google Cloud (GCP)
*Looking for ownership, progression, and training and development opportunities
