In this role, you will lead the design function, overseeing the development and review of project designs to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with client requirements. You'll guide the design process from initial concept through to approval, supporting the team, strengthening design standards, and driving continuous improvement across the department. This position can be on a hybrid or remote basis, with travel to the office once each month.
The ideal candidate will be an accomplished Design Manager with extensive experience in roofing, cladding, or glazing systems and a proven ability to lead and develop high-performing design teams. You will be confident in reviewing, coordinating, and refining technical designs, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and buildability at every stage.

The Role
- Lead and oversee the design process, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Manage programmes, budgets, and sub-contract design resources.
- Review and approve drawings, schedules, and site activities.
- Guide the design team and coordinate with clients, site teams, and suppliers.
- Monthly office visit and quarterly Design Team meetings in Aylesbury.
The Person
- Experience as a Design Manager working on roofing, cladding, or glazing projects.
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
- Strong commercial awareness, including material costs and budget management.
- Willing to travel to the office once per month to attend meetings.
