Senior Project Manager

Job description

Senior Project Manager
£55,000 - £60,000 + car allowance, progreesion and enhanced benefits
Wakefield - Office & site based

This is a strong opportunity for a Senior or Associate-level Project Manager to join a growing, client-side property consultancy experiencing increased workload from repeat business and new project wins. The role has been created to support continued growth and offers genuine influence over projects and the wider business.

This position will appeal to a Project Manager who enjoys autonomy, variety, and trust. You won't be pigeon-holed into a single sector or delivery style; instead, you'll manage a diverse portfolio of projects while working closely with senior leadership in a flexible, people-focused environment.

The consultancy delivers project management, quantity surveying, building surveying, and architectural services, offering both standalone commissions and full turnkey solutions. Projects span cladding remediation, residential, care, education, defence, and wider public-sector work, across both new build and refurbishment schemes. Clients include developers, councils, and public bodies, with a strong emphasis on repeat instructions and long-term relationships. The business has clear five-year growth plans, including regional expansion and increased focus on care, education, and defence projects.

You'll be responsible for managing projects from pre-start through to completion, acting as the key point of contact for clients. This includes coordinating design teams, managing consultants, overseeing procurement processes, and ensuring projects are delivered to programme, budget, and client expectations.

This role suits an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record of delivering construction projects, ideally within refurbishment or new-build environments. You'll be organised, commercially aware, and confident managing stakeholders at all levels, with the ability to balance multiple projects and priorities.

With clear succession planning in place, this role offers a defined progression route from Senior Project Manager to Associate and ultimately Director level. Progression is supported through development programmes, and a leadership team genuinely invested in long-term development.

The Role - Responsibilities
* Managing projects from pre-start through to completion
* Acting as the primary client liaison
* Appointing and coordinating design teams and consultants with regular progress meetings
* Managing PQQs, tenders, and reporting
* Overseeing site delivery through to completion

The Person - Requirements
* Proven Project Management experience within construction or consultancy
* Experience delivering refurbishment and/or new-build projects
* Strong stakeholder, programme, and time management skills
* Clear, confident communication style
* MRICS desirable but not essential
* Happy to travel to sites as required
