Senior Quantity Surveyor - Energy & Decarbonisation Projects
London - Hybrid Working

A leading UK energy and engineering services organisation is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team, supporting the delivery of large-scale energy efficiency and decarbonisation projects across London and the surrounding region.
Working closely with senior commercial leadership, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of multiple projects, supporting project delivery teams while ensuring strong cost control, contractual compliance, and value creation throughout the project lifecycle. The role offers hybrid and flexible working, combining office collaboration, site engagement, and remote working.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to step into a senior role with greater ownership and influence while contributing to projects that support the UK's transition to a lower-carbon future.
The Role:
- Lead the commercial management of energy and decarbonisation projects from procurement through to final account
- Manage project cost control, forecasting, and cost/value reconciliation processes
- Prepare and oversee accurate client valuations and commercial reporting
- Lead subcontract procurement and manage subcontract accounts, variations, and change control
- Ensure all commercial obligations are administered in line with contract requirements
- Provide commercial guidance and support to project and operational teams
- Work closely with project leadership to identify risks, manage change, and maximise commercial opportunities
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships to support successful project delivery
The Person:
- Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Significant experience in a Quantity Surveying or Senior Quantity Surveying role
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge within construction, engineering, infrastructure, or energy projects
- Experience managing subcontractors and overseeing multiple project packages
- Knowledge of JCT and/or NEC forms of contract
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders
- Professional membership (RICS, CIOB, CICES) or working towards is advantageous
