Assessor/Trainer - Civil Engineering
Cambridge
Circa £40 to £50 per hour
Are you an experienced professional in Civil Engineering with a passion for training and mentoring the next generation?
Do you want to join a well-established college in the East of England, recognised for delivering high-quality vocational education and apprenticeships, with strong links to local employers and industry?
Are you keen to manage a caseload of learners, providing coaching, mentoring, and training to help them successfully complete their apprenticeships?
Do you want to be the main point of contact for learners and employers, supporting the development of knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for success in the Civil Engineering industry?
This opportunity would suit someone with strong Civil Engineering experience who enjoys working with learners and employers, delivering practical and classroom-based training, and supporting apprentices to achieve their potential. Assessor or IQA qualifications are beneficial but not essential, with training and support available.
The Role
* Conduct regular progress reviews, providing constructive feedback to learners and employers
* Support learners in developing portfolios and preparing for End Point Assessments (EPA)
* Work closely with employers to identify suitable tasks and training opportunities
* Track and document learner progress to meet quality assurance requirements
* Deliver targeted training to support learners' wider life skills development
* Promote the college's values and ensure compliance with awarding body standards
* Maintain professional and effective communication with learners, employers, and colleagues
The Person
* Level 3 Civil Engineering qualification and substantial industry experience
* Level 3 TAQA qualification (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards it
* Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and End Point Assessments
* Passionate about mentoring and supporting learners
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use
