Junior Technician (Motor Vehicle)
Gravesend
£12.80 per hour + 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Initially a temporary role until the academic year, but potential to go permanent


Are you a recently qualified Level 2 Motor Vehicle Technician looking to take your first step into a supportive workshop environment?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and highly respected FE college in Gravesend, known for its strong reputation in technical education and modern training facilities. The college provides high-quality vocational learning and supports students in developing practical, job-ready skills.

You will join the motor vehicle department, working closely with experienced lecturers and technicians to help deliver engaging practical sessions. This role is ideal for someone at the start of their career who wants to build confidence and gain hands-on experience in an educational setting.

In this role, you will support the preparation and smooth running of workshop sessions. You will assist with maintaining tools and equipment, organising materials, and helping learners during practical activities while developing your own skills and knowledge.

The Role:
* Support the maintenance of hand tools, machinery, and workshop areas
* Prepare materials, equipment, and resources for practical lessons
* Assist lecturers during workshop sessions and practical demonstrations
* Help monitor health and safety within the workshop environment
* Maintain stock levels and organise parts and materials
* Support learners during practical tasks under supervision
* Assist in keeping workspaces clean, safe, and organised
* Contribute to basic maintenance tasks within your level of training

The Person:
* Recently completed a Level 2 qualification in Motor Vehicle or similar
* Keen to start a career within the motor vehicle industry or education setting
* Practical, organised, and willing to learn
* Good communication skills and a team-focused approach
* Basic understanding of workshop health and safety practices
