Project Engineer

Yorkshire

£45,000 - £60,000 per year, 21 days holiday + bank holidays, standard pension, hybrid working (75% home/office, 25% on-site), mileage reimbursement

My client is an engineering consultancy specialising in electricity distribution and transmission. They focus on technically robust, compliant projects and foster professional growth within a collaborative team.

As a Project Engineer, you will support the design and delivery of electrical civil works up to 66kV. You will manage programmes, track progress, coordinate contractors, and ensure safety, quality, and cost compliance across multiple projects.

You are an HNC-qualified (degree preferred) engineer with proven experience in distribution or transmission projects. You have strong technical knowledge of asset classes (cables, OHL, substations, civil works) and are confident managing stakeholders and project delivery.

The Role

  • Undertake engineering design, cost estimates, and technical documentation
  • Deliver project works safely and to company processes and standards
  • Manage programmes, progress tracking, and contractor coordination
  • Participate in audits, inspections, safety duties (including CDM)
  • Provide technical support for tenders, contract management, and project reporting

The Person

  • Proven experience in distribution / transmission project engineering
  • Strong technical knowledge of distribution asset classes up to 66kV
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations and safety management
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Motivated, reliable, and proactive
