In this role, you'll take financial and contractual control of construction and refurbishment projects, working closely with operational teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure strong commercial performance and best value. You'll lead your own workstream, managing budgets, risk, and compliance while mentoring junior team members and ensuring robust governance throughout each stage of delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in housing, construction, or property, with proven experience managing budgets, contracts, and cost control on high-value projects. You'll be confident in financial forecasting, negotiating with contractors and suppliers, and providing commercial advice to operational colleagues. Experience within a social housing or client-side environment would be highly beneficial.

The Role:

  • Take commercial and contractual ownership of construction and refurbishment projects
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and cost reporting to ensure strong financial performance
  • Provide commercial advice to operational teams and ensure compliance with contractual processes
  • Lead on cost forecasting, value engineering, and budget control
  • Line manage 1 Assistant Surveyor


The Person

  • Experienced Quantity Surveyor from a housing, construction, or property background
  • Strong commercial, financial, and contractual knowledge
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors and deliver projects to budget and timescales
  • Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel across the North West
