Design Manager (Energy & Net Zero Solutions)

As a Design Manager, you'll support the full project lifecycle, from early-stage development and concept design through to construction and commissioning. You will coordinate both internal and external design teams to deliver buildable, compliant and cost-effective solutions aligned with client objectives and project performance targets.

The Role:
- Oversee the technical journey from initial development through to delivery.
- Provide technical support throughout construction and commissioning.
- Manage internal design resources and external consultants.
- Coordinate design programmes and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Ensure designs align with scope, budget and governance requirements.
- Review consultant deliverables and evaluate options for safety, cost and buildability.
The Person:
- Experienced in M&E design within a project delivery environment.
- Strong technical background in large-scale heating and energy systems.
- Able to lead and coordinate a small technical team.
- Knowledge of planning, building control, permitting, fire and electrical compliance.
- Familiar with energy-saving technologies such as fabric upgrades, solar PV, LED lighting, fans and BMS improvements.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
